Madeira x manaomea pen 2.0

With our sustainable endeavors, we don’t stop at our products or our production processes. We try to be conscious about what and how we communicate – this also includes our merchandise. We partnered with manaomea to produce our new Madeira pen 2.0 – upcycled, circular, unique.

Features

Refill and reuse

When it runs out of ink, you can simply replace the ballpoint refill with a new one. And when it reaches the end of its useful life span, simply return the pen tube to manaomea where it can be put back into the manaomea material circulation to become a part of piece of furniture.

From waste to pen

Made from production waste of our beautiful embroidery threads. Since this waste varies, so does the look of our pen. A truly unique product.

Organic

To hold the threads together to form a durable pen, they are submerged into manaomea’s signature organic resin, made from 95% agricultural raw material.

Social

Produced in Germany, in a production company that employs people with disabilities so they can be part of the workforce.

Responsible

5 cents go towards setting up the first little pen production on site at the textile waste mountains in India.

Production

Step 1

Spool thread on big cones

Step 2

Heat up Manaomea bio resin to make it liquid

Step 3

Put big production cones into machine

Step 4

Coat thread scraps with resin

Step 5

Cut into pen sizes tubes and let cool. Done!
